History

On 1 December 1927, the Paton brothers opened their business known as Paton's Brake Service Station in the Melbourne suburb of Carlton.

Since that time, the business has grown from a local manufacturer of brake parts for the Australian market to one of the leading brake technology companies supplying advanced brake system products and technology to the global automotive market.

The Garage That Grew is a publication produced in 2002 to recognised the company's first 75 years in business. It summarises the company's key achievments during that time and provides an insight into PBR's culture of developing innovative solutions at all levels of the business.
