Brake By Wire
ePB (electric Park Brake)
PBR's ePB (electric Park Brake) provides
electronic actuation of drum-in-hat style park brake configurations,
integral parkbrake calipers as well as standard leading-trailing
service/parking type drum brakes. To operate the unit a signal
is sent to the actuator mechanism which then applies load to the
actuating cable and engages the park brake.
The unique design of
PBR's patented ePB actuator incorporates a kidney-shaped spool
which accurately controls the tightening and releasing of the
actuating cable. The ePB is a compact, lightweight design which
can be mounted on the axle or the chassis offering maximum flexibility
in vehicle fitment. The unit is acknowledged as being exceptionally
quiet and fast during operation.
For light commercial trucks or other heavy duty applications, this configuration is also available with a load intensifier. Maximum performance can be achieved by coupling the ePB with PBR's Banksia single-shoe park brake.
