Park Brakes

PBR developed the Banksia single-shoe drum-in-hat park brake to meet the automotive industry's call for improved hill-holding without a corresponding increase in weight. In fact, the Banksia has significantly improved performance whilst reducing weight.

The Banksia reduces complexity by replacing the traditional two shoes with a single shoe. This single-shoe design, combined with a patented grinding process and a very efficient actuator, significantly increases park brake performance in both the unburnished (green) and burnished condition. Vehicle manufacturers, who incorporate a burnishing operation during vehicle assembly, can often eliminate this by utilising the Banksia design.
