Brake By Wire
ePBHC (electric Park Brake Hydraulic Caliper)
PBR's ePBHC (electric Park
Brake Hydraulic Caliper) provides electronic actuation of the
park brake when integrated with the rear (hydraulic) caliper assembly.
To operate the unit a signal is sent to a small motor integrated
in the caliper which activates a power screw to clamp the brake
pads.
Unlike many conventional
integral park brake arrangements, the power screw is arranged
separate from the hydraulic piston bore which eliminates the addition
of an extra seal and the associated risk of leakage. This also
eliminates the potential for poor pedal feel caused by piston
seal deformation when parking over long periods. The ePBHC's specially
designed gear arrangement excels in low noise operation.
PBR's ePBHC can be installed
on either twin or single piston calipers and the actuator can
be installed at a wide angular range providing maximum flexibility
for vehicle fitment.
