Research & Development - Design Tools

PBR's design team is located at the company's development centre in Melbourne , Australia where a comprehensive suite of design tools has been assembled for fast turn-around brake system design.

Working in conjunction with the major car companies, PBR is capable of communicating the latest designs through a variety of CAD languages such as; Pro-E, UG, CATIA and I-DEAS.

With a focus on minimising development time, PBR has developed a number of simulation tools which facilitates virtual product testing in areas such as; functional performance, strength and durability.

In the highly specialised field of noise and vibration evaluation, PBR uses advanced modelling techniques through Nastran and Abaqus that allow accurate prediction of noise hot-spots prior to prototype development.
